Ketchum/Sun Valley based Idaho River Publications (IRP) was established in 2006 by photographer and river guide Matt
Leidecker. IRP publishes high-quality, map-based “comprehensive” guidebooks for use in both river and mountain
environments.
The word "comprehensive" is an important element in the title
of all IRP guidebooks. With an undergraduate degree in geology from Middlebury College, Matt’s original intent was to
include new research about the canyon geology in The Middle Fork of the Salmon River
- A Comprehensive Guide. While researching
along the Rogue River in Oregon, Matt realized the deep historical connection people had to the river so he included
an extensive historical section in The Rogue River - A Comprehensive Guide from Prospect to Gold
Beach.
In Exploring Sun Valley Matt continued to add more
"comprehensive" information with several wildflower identification pages in
addition to the history and geology sections. The resulting book provides readers a more complete understanding of the
greater Wood River Valley than any other guidebook on the market. The comprehensive nature of IRPs guidebooks combine
