This map spread of
Bald Mountain is a sample from the Smoky Mountain section (pages 73-113). Due the high density of trails
on Bald Mountain, the directions, highlights, and trail descriptions are more condensed. This occurs on the Adams
Gulch and Croy Canyon map pages as well.
This particular map also displays the Castle Rock (and other) fire information that is included throughout the guidebook. A solid yellow line delineates the boundary of the 2007 fire while the yellow overlay identifies areas where the forest was completely charred. Hikers, bikers, and skiers should expect to find a severly blackened forest in these areas. Ski runs and lifts have also been added to the map. |
